The Learning Clinic provides strong academic instruction combined with a full range of clinical on campus services. Each student receives personalized services in each part of the program with nurturance, defined objectives, and authentic experience.
The Learning Clinic is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and approved by the Connecticut State Department of Education. The Connecticut Department of Children and Families licenses the Rolling Ridge Residential Program and the Extended Day Program.
TLC programs are integrated and cohesive. All staff are trained in the written TLC model for service delivery to students and families. Staff work as an integrated team that has a commitment to evidence-based instruction and treatment.
The academic, residential, and clinical programs are offered to children, adolescents and young adults ages 6-23 and their families over the course of a 12-month program. TLC students are actively involved in art, music and drama. The program also offers young apprentice experiences in our local community from age 14 and older. Competitive employment and opportunities for part-time employment are goals of students in our Transition Program.
TLC has a strong long term working relationship, since 1980, with Quinebaug Valley Community College (QVCC) academic and certificate programs. During their time at TLC, students are able to participate in college courses and earn credits toward a degree.
TLC farm program, equestrian program, wooded campus trails and pond provide a natural ecology for experience-based learning. The Maine Between the Rivers Nature Center provides a wilderness campus for environmental studies and a full range of activities in the Maine woods and waters.
The range of TLC services is designed to meet the aims of the TLC mission and the high standards required to reach the overarching aims of the program mission. The Rolling Ridge Residential, Country Day School, Transition Program, and support services are structured to assist our students meet their personal goals and achieve future independence through active experiences.
